Daniel Alsmeyer, Ph.D. is a principal at Johdan Applied Technologies and serves as the Director of Research and Development. Dan has over fifteen years of developing analysis techniques to infer conditions from complex data sets. He has expertise in reducing complex monitoring problems to robust detection algorithms. His passions involve incorporating intelligent algorithm routines with measurement systems to accurately model complex systems and behaviors. He previously led Eastman’s Chemicals Analytical Laboratories where he directed the efforts of over 130 scientists serving the division's analytical development, quality control, and process analytical needs. He later integrated the analytical development and quality control functions of eight acquired resin manufacturing operations where he created a unified quality system and secured ISO certification. Dan is trained in Six Sigma techniques and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois and a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the Ohio State University. He is an inventor on eight United States patents relating to optical spectroscopy instrumentation and fiber optic probes. Dan can be reached at alsmeyer@johdan.com |
